Pink Floyd founding member Richard Wright dies at age 65

Just a few days ago I was writing about the sad news of the passing away of Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan. Today the world of sound in harmony has lost another great musician, Richard Wright, one of the founding members of Pink Floyd has died at the age of 65. He was battling cancer at his home in Britain.

He was a self-taught pianist and keyboardist, and he authored significant parts of the music for classic albums such as Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here, as well as for Pink Floyd’s final studio album The Division Bell.

Although he is not often mentioned among the ’synthesizer greats’, Wright’s inventive use of keyboards and synthesizers with Pink Floyd is widely acknowledged to be pioneering.

Your music Richard, has inspired many of my paintings and drawings, thank you for being among among us. Let me say goodbye and see you on the Dark Side of the Moon!
